What the years been
Looking back (even though its only September) the year has been tough. As with any artist, rejection letters are a part of life. Sometimes you wonder why, or wish you were born in the age when society seemed to give a rats arse about art. If your not the latest new thing or flavour of the moment it can feel like your drowning in a sea of cultural obscurity. Then there is the Ark, my studio, Red Box in Collingwood a whole collection of artist from diverse fields all trying to carve a niche. To not make art would be like not breathing so those of us who are in more traditional fields like pure painting or drawing are left bewildered as to how to get noticed. We now embrace technology, we create web sites for our artwork, blogs and even facebook pages for sculptures, anything to get noticed to get your name out there. This is my first blog, I'm now a blogger, coming up I'll be going to Paris, hung in a group show at Chapman and Bailey gallery, and with the crew at the studio putting on a major event next year. stay tuned.
